During the procedure, 4 or 6 implants can be used per jaw to ensure a stable fixation of the entire upper and / or lower denture. To minimise discomfort due to tooth loss, you will receive a temporary denture within two days from the implantation, which will be attached to the implant with screws. This temporary denture is very similar in function and aesthetics to natural teeth. It is stable, so you can use it for eating after surgery. The healing time is half a year, for that time you have to use temporary dentures. This is the time required for the implants to completely ossify -integrate tot he jawbone, after which the final denture, which can be zirconium or ceramic, is fitted
In all cases, prior consultation a dental status assessment with an oral surgeon is required. Depending on the amount of bone in the jawbone and the suitability of the jawbone, the oral surgeon will determine which of the two methods can be used. With optimal amount of bone, an All-On-4 will be used, while patients with less bone mess still can have the All-On-6.
